Who are we?

Here at Cornerstones Autism Services our mission is to individualize treatment for all the clients we service. We provide therapy services for children as young as two years old, all the way up to transition and adulthood. Our team of specialists include Board Certified Behavior Analysts and Behavioral Therapists, or Registered Behavior Technicians.

At Cornerstones, we believe that a vital part of therapy encompasses direct supervision weekly. Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) see their clients weekly to provide onsite training, weekly updates to therapeutic programming, and review data tracking procedures. We also believe in family supports, so we have integrated parent training and month parent meetings to review your child’s progress and track goals towards your own growth.

What do we do?

Our services include in-home ABA Therapy, in school and daycare program supports. We also work closely with any outside services providers such as Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists Teachers, Social Workers, Speech and Language Pathologists and caregivers. We believe it is important to create a team that is communicative and effective. By working together, we can advocate for your family and child.

What is ABA?

ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis. Applied Behavior Analysis is an evidence-based approach to treating the symptoms that children with autism commonly have because of their disability. These strategies and approaches are also effective with children who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Delay, Smith McGinnis Syndrome, and Downs Syndrome to name a few.

ABA approaches focus on two major areas skill acquisition and behavior reduction. Skill acquisition refers to learning new skills. These skills include but are not limited to: verbal behavior, academics, play skills, daily living skills, social skills, independence, and more! Behavior reduction plans can include proactive strategies like teaching children how to ask for help or how to cope with their emotions effectively. It can also include reactive strategies like ignoring, redirection, or follow through. These strategies can be used with parents and caregivers too. Monthly parent trainings often focus on behavior intervention plan development and parent implementation.

Where do we go?

Cornerstones Autism Services provides ABA therapy to children living in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Since we capitalize on every child’s learning within their natural environment, we can build teams centered around each child’s individual needs and home.
